Walk Habit

Privacy Policy

Walk Habit (hereinafter referred to as "App") values your privacy and complies with applicable laws and regulations. This Privacy Policy explains how the App collects, uses, and stores your personal information.

1. Privacy Principles

The App can be used without a separate sign-up process, and it uses minimal device permissions solely for providing services. As a rule, the developer does not transmit or collect personal identifiable information (name, email, phone number, etc.) to any external server.

2. Information We Collect and Purpose of Use

The permissions requested by the App and their purposes are as follows:

  1. Camera & Photo Library Permissions
    • Purpose: Taking workout verification photos, checking for faces (privacy warning), storing body check records, applying templates, and generating GIFs.
    • Processing: Captured/selected images and generated GIFs are processed locally on your device by default. Only if the user explicitly chooses to save, files may be copied to the system photo gallery (album). Face detection is performed entirely on-device, and no face data is collected or transmitted.
  2. Payment Information (In-App Purchase)
    • Purpose: Processing and restoring voluntary developer support purchases.
    • Processing: All payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The App does not directly collect or hold your credit card number or account information. Support is entirely voluntary; every feature of the App is free regardless of whether you choose to support.
  3. iOS Live Activity / Dynamic Island (iOS 16.1+)
    • Purpose: Displaying the active walk timer on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island so you can see it while using other apps.
    • Processing: Only timer state (session start time, paused state, today's goal minutes) is written to a shared App Group container (UserDefaults) on the same device. Nothing is sent to a remote server or push token, and the data is cleared immediately when the session ends.
  4. Advertising Identifier and Consent (iOS and Android)
    • Purpose: Providing personalized advertisements and measuring ad effectiveness.
    • Processing:
    • On iOS, the App may request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission to access IDFA.
    • On Android, advertising may use the Google Advertising ID (AAID) and related ad signals.
    • If users do not grant permission (or opt out), the App remains fully functional and may show non-personalized ads.

3. Retention and Destruction of Data

  1. All app data (workout records, photos, settings, etc.) is stored by default in your device's local app storage.
  2. If a user uses Biometric authentication (Face ID/Fingerprint) to lock the 'Body Check Gallery', the App only receives a success/fail signal from the OS and never accesses or stores the biometric data itself.
  3. During normal updates provided under the same app identifier (bundle id/applicationId), existing local data may be retained.
  4. If device backup is enabled (such as iCloud or Google backup), copies of app data may be included in that platform account backup.
  5. If a user uses the "Clear Data" feature or deletes the App, local on-device data is deleted. However, backup copies may remain according to the user's platform backup settings.
  6. The developer does not store user data on servers and cannot access Apple/Google-managed backup areas, so we cannot directly restore user data on your behalf.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following third-party services (SDKs) to display ads and manage ad-privacy consent. During this process, the following information may be collected and transmitted in accordance with each provider's policy.

The App currently does not operate a separate crash-reporting or user-behavior analytics SDK.

The collected data is processed according to the privacy policy of each service provider.

5. Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)

GDPR (EU Users): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, and restrict the processing of your data. This App does not store personal data on the developer's servers, and local on-device data is deleted when you clear data or uninstall the App. If device backup is enabled, backup copies may remain under your platform account settings. We use Google AdMob and its partners to deliver personalized ads. Consent is obtained through a Consent Management Platform (CMP) compliant with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF). You may withdraw or manage your ad consent at any time via:

CCPA/CPRA (Residents of certain US states): Residents of certain US states where applicable privacy laws apply (including California) may have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of their personal information ("Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information"). We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. However, we may "share" certain identifiers with third-party advertising partners for personalized advertising, where permitted by law. You may opt out of such sharing for targeted advertising at any time via:

6. Third-Party Disclosure and Sharing

Except for the third-party services (SDKs) listed above, the App does not provide or entrust personal information to third parties without your consent. However, if you use the 'Share' feature to send images to SNS or external messengers, information may be processed according to the terms of those services.
